About the Artist

Art is very human, very natural and connected so closely with life. Making these paintings is so interwoven with my life, my day to day, and it is a reflection of who i am. I am a mother, a wife, a friend, and art is a representation of all of these things and more. 

As an artist I believe it is my responsibility to create and that no time creating is ever wasted - even if my work as an artist was never seen, art is its own reason for coming to be and as an artist I feel morally devoted to it. But i also feel a responsibility to allow it to be seen! And share it with you.

I believe that original works of art should and ought to be be enjoyed in the modern day home to create a sense of belonging, comfort and rest. An heirloom piece that tells everyone who walks in that they can rest here and regain energy to go and do good things in our world. There is so much hope to be had and my goal is for each painting to help us see hope and to rest and be strengthened. 

When you open yourself up to beauty, when you surround yourself with beauty in your home in your place of sanctuary, it has the power to give you courage to face each day with kindness and beauty as well. It can soften us so that we can cary more for others, so that we can remember hope, so that we can love. 

Emily Stanley is an artist in Nashville, TN where she was born and raised. She is married and is a mother to her three small children and paints each day with them. Emily has been an artist since her childhood days but has been painting as a profession since 2018.
